Site Map Printing: Changelog & Legend Item Tag Options

What’s New
When printing site maps, Include Changelog and Include Legend Item Tags are no longer simple on/off settings. Each now lets you choose how much to include.

What You Can Do

  • Include Changelog: choose All Logs for the full change log up to and including the version being printed, or This Version’s Log Only for just the additions, removals, and edits since the previous version.
  • Include Legend Item Tags: choose All Legend Items, or This Version’s Legend Items (Edits, Additions) to tag only the items that changed in that version.

Good to Know

  • Both options are available from the project’s Print Site Maps window and when printing from an inspection.
  • The choices appear once you check the box above them.
  • Narrowing the tags only narrows the labels. Every item still draws on the map.
  • The changelog never includes changes made after the version you’re printing, so the log always matches the map on the page.
  • Removed items aren’t tagged, because they’re no longer on the map.

Customizable Findings Log

What’s New
The Findings Log can now be styled to match the rest of your inspection form, just like the inspection pages already could.

What You Can Do

  • Change the header fill color, text size, and bold or italic formatting.
  • Split the log into an Open Findings table on top and a Closed Findings table below. Each table is still grouped by finding type.
  • Show or hide the Initiated By and Closed By columns.
  • Style the Specific Site Notes & Information header in the certification section to match the rest of the form.

What This Means for You
Your inspection reports look consistent from the first page through certification, and readers can see what’s still open at a glance.

Faster Finding Photo Uploads

What’s New
Saving a finding with photos is now much faster, especially on a cellular connection.

What This Means for You

  • Photos are resized and compressed on your device before they upload. Four photos that used to take about 18 seconds on a typical cellular connection now upload in about 5.
  • The finding window closes as soon as the finding is saved. Photos finish uploading in the background, with a progress message until they’re done, so you can move on to the next finding right away.

Good to Know

  • Photo location and timestamp data is preserved, so photo metadata requirements work as before.
  • If you lose signal or close the tab mid-upload, the photos are retried the next time you open SW2.
  • If photos are still uploading when you go to sign the inspection, SW2 will let you know, so your report doesn’t go out without them.

Automatic Offline Sync When You Sign

What’s New
Offline work on a downloaded project now syncs automatically when you sign the first inspection certification line. You no longer need to remember to press Sync on the dashboard.

What This Means for You
SW2 syncs your offline findings, photos, and notes first, then records your signature, so the Inspection Complete report includes everything you captured in the field.

Good to Know

  • If you sign while offline, your signature and work sync automatically once you’re back online or reopen SW2.
  • If the sync can’t finish, your signature isn’t sent. You’ll see what’s left to sync and can retry.

My Projects on Your Phone

What’s New
On phones, the My Projects widget now shows each project as a card instead of a table that had to be scrolled sideways.

What You’ll See

  • A status for each project: Overdue (with how many days), Due Today, Upcoming, or In Progress.
  • The site name, client, and form name.
  • One full-width button to start or continue the inspection.

Good to Know
Tablets and desktops keep the existing table view.

Project Search Improvements

What’s New
Project search now matches projects and clients whose names start with what you type. Previously, typing “T” returned every name containing a “t” anywhere.

Good to Know

  • Search ignores capitalization.
  • Searching by client name still works.

Maps & GPS Offline

What’s New
Esri layers, GPS-based finding placement, and finding coordinates now work on downloaded projects while you’re offline.

What This Means for You
You can place findings by location and work with your GIS site maps in the field, even without a signal.

Offline Mode Reliability Fixes

What’s Fixed

  • Projects with more than one form: downloading one form marked every form on the project as downloaded, even though only that form’s data was saved to the device. Each form now shows its own download status and can be downloaded on its own.
  • Saving after reconnecting: saving something after reconnecting, before pressing Sync, could wipe out work saved offline earlier. Queued offline work now stays queued until it syncs.
  • Downloaded projects disappearing: the dashboard could remove a downloaded project based on an out-of-date list. It no longer does, and it never removes a project that has unsynced work.
  • Home page offline: the home page and dashboard now load while offline instead of showing a blank page.

What This Means for You
Findings, photos, notes, and signatures you capture in the field stay safely on your device until they’ve actually reached the server.

Other Fixes

What’s Fixed

  • Downloads on iPhone: Download PDF and Download ZIP in the print window did nothing on iPhone Safari with pop-up blocking turned on, which is the default. Downloads now open as expected.
  • Notification permissions: in Edit User › Permissions, notification toggles could appear stuck off for some accounts. They now display and save correctly.
  • Certification tab: inspections with many signatures now load their certification details faster.
